Here it is September...

It is still typically warm during the day here--sometimes very warm, and at the same time there are definite signs of the change of season (not the least of these being fewer daylight hours!).

Last Monday Carl and Carol Jorgensen came to visit on their way home from a trip to Montana. Mom really enjoyed that.

Good morning, Iona,

It is a beautiful day here on the lake. Many tourisits are gone which is a nice change for the locals.
Darren, Lacey and Nolan have been with us over Labor Day holidays. After they leave it will really feel like summer is over.

We look forward to Nadine and Muriel starting meetings this Sunday...the same school and same time.

Think of you often.
Love, Paul & Patty

Dear sister Iona,
We loved your picture with Carol and Carl. We are also trying to see if we can get this message to go through. Will write again if we do! Love you, bro. John and Lucile

OK, looks like we got it right. We got back Sunday evening from a wonderful convention at Pulaski. Only missed one night meeting. We will try to call during the times Joyce told us would be best. Love, John, Lucile and Carol

Hi again Mom! I'm looking at your

Dear Iona,
I enjoyed your letter so much, that Joyce sent by e-mail before she returned to Washington. I'm so glad Linnet is nearby and can keep us in touch through e-mail, too.

We had a very helpful meeting this morning and the brothers commenced their gospel meetings in Yakima today ~ I wasn't able to go but my thoughts and prayers were sure with them all.

It's a beautiful fall day here ~ a lovely time of year and the farmers are harvesting their second cuttings of the year.

My great-nieces had 4-H pigs at the fair held over Labor Day weekend ~ Megan, age 14, took grand championship for intermediates and her sister Carmen, age 11, took grand championship for juniors so they were very pleased. Their parents are Kevin and Bev Baker ~ Kevin works for Henry Brist on his large farm 14 miles from here. You would remember that Kevin is my brother-in-law's (Bob Baker) youngest son. Bev is a niece of Ruth Barclay, B.C. sister worker.

I think of you so often and just wanted to say "hi" again today.

With much luv,
Gena

Hello Iona,
I was looking at the map a few days ago and it's a straight shot (well, really, the road makes a big "C") from Boise to Dillon...freeway all the way!! Now, if I just had a couple free days! Looks like it might be about 10 hours...about the same as going to the coast from here. If only this nursing home job (I guess you're getting an inside view!?) wasn't so totally consuming!! Tonight we had our fall BBQ and everyone seemed to enjoy getting outside and listening to some lively music!

Sally is suppose to come up from San Diego for a week, then I'm going down there to spend some time with her before she and Matt leave for S. America in Dec. for 1-2 years. They plan to be in Columbia for convention.

You would have heard Barb Coles/Russell passed away after a long struggle with cancer. Her funeral is Sat. Jay and Bonnie are to have it in Nyssa. Sounds like Jay will be back in our field later this fall!

It's wonderful to see your pictures and hear about you on this crazy blog thing!! Thanks so much for your letter...remember I love you...you are in fact, one of my precious "mamas"!!

Love, Linda

Dear Iona and Linnet,
Fun to read your blog!! And there, behold are Carl and me with you!! We did enjoy our visit with you and the trip home went fine, after we got through the smoke below Wisdom! Quite a name for the town!

We got back Tuesday from a mini-family reunion of my own children - they had never done this before since their dad died...at Lincoln City, where he always used to like to go for his mini-vacations that we took once a year, usually, when he was able. Our spouses went, too..and then Carl and I stopped a couple of nights at Andy and Terry Kay's...a lovely peaceful place in the country...they were looking forward to Angie calling them and perhaps visiting, as she usually does when in the area...

Now Carl is out at Paul and Karen's, hooking up some wiring for Paul. He stopped by for lunch this noon, and often does..since he is working in town for Habitat for Humanity..he is the boss for the projects here...

Paul built us a porch under the big maple tree in front of the house - it is so nice and cozy. He also put in a lattice work so we have a sense of privacy.

We are sorry that we are only to have this one more gospel meeting here, but perhaps if there were some interest to work on, there would be...but understand they are going to the coast where there is...

Well, Iona - this is long...but hope you are doing better and better!

Lots of Love, Carl and Carol

We just sent you a long email and then looked at the blog and got all the answers to our questions on the blog including the news of Gordon's and Yvonna's baby and the lovely pictures of the four of them. Also all the latest pictures of Iona and all of her visiters so we want you to know that we will look at the blog more often. It was nice to see all of the pictures that the blog contained. We think of you often and love you dearly and really miss you. Goodbye with love, John and Lucile
